:: Millenium Line Skytrain Moving Project
The Millenium line Skytrain moving project included elaborate designs for many of the new stations. The curved roof truss for the new Lougheed station was fabricated in four sections roughly 9 miles from the station itself. We transported two sections per night along a route which included a 90 degree turn and a "270 degree Cloverleaf Intersection."

We loaded the two shorter 100' sections with a bunk at one end and "Boxframe" with dollies at the other. |
The longer 140' "Endpieces" of the truss needed to be transported using a using a lowbed with a 5th wheel & bunk at the front and boxframe & dollies at the rear. This meant that the overall dimensions of the load including the truck were increased to 20' high by 20' wide by over 200' long! |

The lifting of sections into place required one whole side of Lougheed Highway to be shut down and each lift took more than an hour. |
